Entry 2010 - 66 - "I Dream of Sleeping"

I should have made this post last week. I've been make tons on sketches in anticipation for 3 local designs contests: Cooper River Bridge Run, Knology's 5k Pajama Run, and BB&T's Charleston Wine & Food Festival. Bridge Run wa sknocked out first, and designing the last two, getting constantly burned out, recharged and keep rethinking.
The sketch idea up above is inspired by a previous sketch that I'm currently making and inspired by one of my favorite illustrator's work CrayonEater by James Jean. The rough sketch features a longjohn/slipper-wearing runner with a cluster of pajama/sleep related imagery in place of the head. I've made 2 cleaned up and inked versions of the idea. I've been working from this idea since mid last week. Right now, I'm making the final comp.

Entry 2010 - 65 - "Misleading McFly"

During my last semester at Trident, I had an ENG 102 class. We discussed everything from story meaning to Hamlet to poetry. This entry is one of many poems I wrote (without assigned purpose). Its fun to read & relates to a great pop culture movie. Deloreans never looked much better! Poem was created in March & the art on it is from today. Check it out!

Entry 2010 - 64 - "Flyer of Sole" Part 1

I've been trying to create a 6 x 4 flyer specifically for custom shoes and the custom miscellaneous. The flyer idea has grown from something hokey to something interesting. Idea's of a shattered glass with different sneakers I've done in each shard on the front, along with the headline having a glass text effect. On the back will be my contact info, headline, and the link to this underrated blog. :)

I noticed my work process never changes for personal or client work: 10 thumb sketches, 5 comp sketches, 2 re-comp sketches, 3+ digital comps, and a final design = Front Flyer!

Final Flyer will be on Part 2's posting.
Back side in progress, Printing should take place next week (100-200 copies to start)
