MMXI - 191 - "Daft Dad"

The illustration's driver/pilot will appeared to be the Space Kid's father. A father with a button-up shirt and the head of a Daft Punk member. Just like the Minivan and Space Parent One, this as a sketchy foundation and then a color line clean up. All of these images will be put together and then digitally colored.

First, I did all the geometric and organic sketching that I possibly could. The above pic is the foundation for this illustration idea.

After the sketchy foundation pic, I went over it for a cleaner, more precise image. I hope I conveyed the inside of a car well, front & back seat with rear window.

This is a very crappy sketch I made. Its intent was for the next dreaming kid who wants to go into space. I sketched this on the night I learned that America's space program was shutting down. The sketch is crappy for the anatomy and the odd Tintin eyes.

There's a sketchier scribble on the left and right of the Tintin-esque kid, which gave me an idea and the chance to hone some digital coloring skills.

So this past Saturday and Sunday I worked on planning this new space-related illustration.
