Entry 2010 - 99 - "The Brave & the Bold"

The Brave & the Bold - Deadman & Batman (2 DC comics' characters)

Mens Size 7

The shoes feature Deadman (a ghastly detective) reverse-possessing Batman and leaving his body. On the back of Deadman's shoe is an actual bat drawing with my website listed. On the back of Batman's shoe is a circus tent & trapeze ropes. The pair has a grim, gray wash background.

The shoes took about a week to make. They are also on display at my local comic book store, Captain's Comics & Toys in Charleston, SC.

Entry 2010 - 97 - "One Night of Sin"

Before "Artifex Jay", my blogspot page was originally called "The Cross-Hatch King". I love the use of crosshatching much more than shading.
Here's 2 Portraits using hatching (similar to my portrait). The 2nd's an unknown person. The first portrait is someone who sings the title of this post.

Both were created last night/this morning from 1-3am.

Comment if you want or like it.

Entry 2010 - 94 - "Autumn 4 Robert F. Kennedy"

I took a class about 1 or 2 years ago called Computer Imagery 2, an more challenging advanced photoshop class taught by one of my favorite professors. It was a Tom Ogburn class and he would have us do these mini projects "on the spot" called Spot Illustrations. We'd have between 5-20min to find recognizable, iconic images and make the kind of image that would appear on a newscast like CNN or MSNBC or Fox...I mean...CNN.

And most days, Ogburn would make up a Spot Illustration idea on the spot, literally, for us to do. And for this one I've posted, its one of Robert F. Kennedy with a semi-iconic image on an autumn theme and RFK for subtlety.
